Vom Engelsbrunn German Shepherd Dogs

The German Shepherd was developed from working herding dogs around 1900 into an all-around
working dog. Schutzhund was developed at this time as a test of working ability for German Shepherds. Only German Shepherds that had passed a Schutzhund test or a herding test were allowed to breed and thus have their progeny registered as a German Shepherd Dog. This is true in Germany to this day.

We at Vom Engelsbrunn Shepherds have been showing and breeding our dogs for over 15 years in NY with one goal in mind: to produce quality German Shepherds Dogs with excellent temperament, health, and good looks that are easily trained and handled. With our aim to breed the best dogs in the world, we look forward to helping find a friend and companion for you and your family.

We are a Hobby Breeder

We breed our dogs with 100% West German stock right here in New York State and in Gernmany. We look for large bones, good hip ratings, and good elbow ratings, titled dogs (SchH 1-3) with Koring (Breed Survey) by SV German Judges. Vom Engelsbrunn Shepherds are bred according to SV Standards in Germany. Schutzhund training tests Trainability and Temperament, Intelligence, and Courage. It also tests physical traits such as strength, endurance, agility, and scenting ability. The goal of Schutzhund is to illuminate the character of a dog through training. At Vom Engelsbrunn Shepherds, we use this insight to determine how and whether to use a dog in producing the next generation of German Shepherd Dogs.

We are proud of our German Shepherds

Our Vom Engelsbrunn Shepherds have placed in the top positions in the USA Sieger Shows and NASS Sieger Shows as well as regional and local area shows.
